Dudley, Mass- With six matches still left to be played this season, the Nichols women's tennis team has already broken the school record for wins in a season with its eighth of the year on Saturday against Eastern Nazarene, 8-1. The Bison are now 8-1 overall and 4-1 in TCCC play. Eastern Nazarene slips to 3-5 overall and 0-4 in conference action. The Bison took every match with the exception of #3 doubles.
Junior Jessica Porter (Melrose, Mass.) won her seventh match of the year by injury default. She now ranks third all-time at Nichols with 27 career singles victories. Sophomore Molly McGuire (Sandwich, Mass.) picked up her 23rd career singles victory, which ties her for fourth all-time. Also recording singles wins today were freshmen Emily Levine (Providence, R.I.), Kelsey Urbanetti (Glastonbury, Conn.) and Chelsey Cutting (Holyoke, Mass.) along with senior Katherine Bishop (Fitchburg, Mass.).
Nichols will face Western New England College this Tuesday, Sept. 25 at 3:30 p.m.
