Dudley, MA- The Nichols women's tennis team fought hard to keep its undefeated record on Thursday, battling back to take a 5-4 win against Clark in non-conference action. The Bison are now 4-0 on the year while the Cougars drop to 0-3. After losing two of three doubles matches, Nichols needed wins in four of the six singles matches.
Junior Jessica Porter (Melrose, Mass.), sophomore Molly McGuire (Sandwich, Mass.) and freshman Chelsey Cutting (Holyoke, Mass.) all picked up solid wins at #1, 2 and 6 singles, respectively. Porter's 6-2, 6-4 win clinched the victory for the Bison after freshman Kelsey Urbanetti (Glastonbury, Conn.) came from behind on both of her sets, to capture her second win of the season at the #4 spot.
