Hebron, Conn.- Sophomore Pasquale Pio (Somers, Conn.) led the Nichols men's golf team to a second place finish at the Trinity Invitational over the weekend. Pio finished second overall after senior Dave Velardo (Wilmington, Mass.) of Wesleyan won a tiebreaker to decide the individual gold medalist. Trinity won the event just one stroke ahead of the Bison while Wesleyan took third.

Trinity held a nine-stroke lead after the first day of the tournament in which they shot a 306 and managed to cling to a one-stroke lead after shooting a 312 to Nichols' 304 in the final 18 holes. Trinity finished with a total score of 618 (+42), while Nichols came in at 619 (+43), followed by Wesleyan's 638 (+62).
