The Nichols College women's tennis team saw its 2006 season come to a close on Tuesday afternoon as it fell, 7-2, to Roger Williams in the Commonwealth Coast Conference Tournament Quarterfinals. Freshmen
Molly McGuire (East Sandwich, MA) and Maria Balabonova (Moscow, Russia) earned the wins for the Bison at #2 and #3 singles, respectively.
The season brought along several highlights for the Bison as they recorded their most victories since 1996 with a 7-8 overall record. McGuire's 6-2, 6-2 win over Roger William's Jessica Manners was her 14th of the season, which breaks Christina Cabral's '02 2001 season record of 13. McGuire went 14-1 at #2 singles, which also gives her the highest winning percentage in a season.
