Box Score The Nichols women's soccer team ended a difficult 2006 season on a positive note, downing Eastern Nazarene 7-1 on Wednesday afternoon. The win was the team's first conference victory of the year as it dropped four games by just one goal and drew ties in three other CCC matches as well. Sophomore
Kaila Gray (Pembroke, NH) registered a hat trick for the Bison, scoring three goals. Nichols closes out the year 4-11-3 overall and 1-8-3 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference.
The Bison took a 3-0 lead just 12 minutes into the game with Gray scoring two of her goals. Sophomore Chelsea Blair (Blandford, MA) added the other, her fifth of the season. Eastern Nazarene then scored its lone goal of the game in the 21st minute.
Nichols went on to score four goals in the second half as it out-shot Eastern Nazarene 25-8. Gray scored her third goal in the 61st minute while junior Christina Palmerino (Charlton, MA) gave the Bison a 6-1 lead with her third goal of the season. Seniors Jamie Sommers (Grafton, MA) and Andrea Lane (East Longmeadow, MA) ended their Nichols careers on high notes with goals of their own in the 71st and 85th minutes, respectively.
