Box Score The Nichols men's lacrosse team fell by a score of 14-5 to Curry in its final game of the season on Saturday at Vendetti Field. The Bison close out the year 2-12 overall and 1-7 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference while Curry improves to 6-9 overall and 4-4 in the conference. Senior
Mark Buckley (Weymouth, MA) led Nichols with a pair of goals in the loss, including one in the final second of the game. Junior Ryan Rooney (Newton, MA) scored a game-high five goals and made four assists for Curry while senior Alex Savioli (Milton, MA) added four and two assists.
Buckley scored 3:14 into the first quarter to give the Bison an early 1-0 lead but after that it was all Curry, who rattled off 11 straight goals spanning into the third quarter. An unassisted goal by junior Lucas Wilson (Falmouth, MA) with 2:47 left in the third made it an 11-2 contest but the Colonels tallied two more goals early in the fourth quarter. Freshman Sean Tarrant (Norwalk, CT) scored for Nichols with 7:07 left while the Bison also scored the last two goals of the game, one by junior Peter Smyth (Bradford, MA) and the other by Buckley, for the 14-5 final.
Senior Pat Leonard (Londonderry, NH) and junior Kyle O'Brien (South Boston, MA) each registered a pair of goals and assists for the Colonels. Senior Tim Taylor (Canton, MA) posted 18 saves in net for Nichols while Curry's Alex MacMillan (Framingham, MA) recorded 25.
