NEW LONDON, Conn.- The Nichols college women's basketball team improved to 6-2 on the year with a 78-55 victory at Mitchell College on Saturday. The Bison were led by junior MaryLynn Skarzenski, who recorded 12 points, five rebounds, five steals and four assists. Senior Kristina Weasel added 11. Sophomore Margaret Lilly chipped in with eight points and nine rebounds as well.

Nichols erased a 13 point Mitchell lead with a 26-12 drive to close out the half with a 36-35 lead. In the second half, the Bison continued their momentum as a lay-up by sophomore Samantha Foote with 13 seconds left gave Nichols a 25 point lead, its biggest lead of the game.

The Bison will return to action following the holidays on Tuesday, Jan. 2 at Manhattanville.
