Bristol, RI- The Nichols women's tennis team fell to host Roger Williams, 7-2, on Tuesday in TCCC action. The Hawks remain undefeated in TCCC play at 9-0 while the Bison fall to 4-5. Junior Jessica Porter (Melrose, Mass.) and sophomore Molly McGuire (Sandwich, Mass.) earned the wins for Nichols at #1 and #2 singles, respectively.

Porter fought back from a 5-2 deficit in her second set against Caitlyn Leone (8-2 on the year) and went on to win 7-5. In the third set, Porter easily won, 10-3, to pick up her tenth victory of the year (10-1) and 30th of her career. She now is tied for second all-time in career victories at Nichols.

McGuire also had an impressive win at #2 singles, downing Leah Ribchinsky in straight sets (6-0, 6-4). McGuire is now 12-1 on the year, whic moves her up to third all-time with 26 career singles victories.

The Bison will close out their regular season at home this Saturday against Gordon. The two teams are currently tied for sixth place in the conference as the top eight teams will advance tot he TCCC Quarterfinals, set to begin Tuesday, Oct. 16.
