DUDLEY, Mass. (May 23) – Sophomore Tyler Shute has been placed on the Second Annual Worcester Area Baseball All-Star team by the sports information directors representing the 10 colleges and universities in Worcester County, including Holy Cross and Assumption.
 
Shute, a second team selection, finished the regular season ranked 25th among Division-III pitchers for complete games as he went the distance in all six starts including conference wins against Wentworth, Salve Regina and Eastern Nazarene. The All-CCC honorable mention struck out a season and career-high seven batters at Wentworth while surrendering one earned run in his outings versus Wentworth and Eastern Nazarene.
 
In 43 innings of work this season, Shute posted single season career-bests as he struck out 33 batters, issued only 10 free passes and compiled a 3.14 ERA. His 2012 walk total places him in a tie for eighth among all Bison for fewest allowed in a single season. In addition to his starting role, Shute made two relief appearances for a total of three scoreless innings and three strikeouts.
