SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (Sept. 6) – Nichols senior goalkeeper Brendan Hamilton and first-year back Phil Mitto have earned weekly men's soccer honors from the Commonwealth Coast Conference, it was announced Tuesday. Hamilton was named Defensive Player of the Week as Mitto was chosen as the Rookie of the Week.
 
Hamilton posted a pair of non-conference shutouts in the opening week of play. His 1-0 win at Plymouth State marked the 20th time in his career that he has held the opposition scoreless. 
  
Mitto scored just 22 minutes into his collegiate career following a free kick taken by senior midfielder Danny Smith (Verona, N.J.) in a 1-0 season-opening win at New England College.
 
Next up for the Bison is a 6:30 p.m. road contest at Clark on Wednesday. On Saturday the team opens its home and CCC slate with an 11:30 a.m. match versus Gordon.
