SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (Oct. 30) – Senior
David Johnson was named a Commonwealth Coast Conference Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Year as he and five other student-athletes earned All-CCC status, it was announced Sunday afternoon by Commissioner Gregg M. Kaye.
Voting for the All-CCC team and each of the major awards was conducted among CCC men's soccer coaches.
Johnson was joined by junior
Scott Coderre on the first team as senior keeper
Brendan Hamilton was named to the second team. Sophomore

Danny Smith and sophomore
Brendan Whitson each were placed on the honorable mention team.
Johnson, a four-time All-CCC honoree, picked up his second first team nod as well his first major conference award. In 14 matches, the senior helped anchor the Bison backs that tied for second among league teams allowing only 19 goals.
Coderre repeats as a first team member as he amassed a team-best eight goals and 19 points to go along with a trio of assists in 16 contests. The senior produced the game-winning goal in three matches with one against Wentworth and another versus University of New England.
Hamilton spent nearly 1,200 minutes in net for the Bison in 14 matches posting a 1.14 goals against average and .819 save percentage. The season also saw the senior record a Nichols-best 21 career shutouts while also earning his 45th win.
Gaumond, the 2010 CCC Rookie of the Year, added a second honorable mention to his resume. The sophomore started 11 of the 14 matches he played in, scoring four goals and notching an assist for nine points.
Smith, saw action in 15 contests making 14 starts helping his teammates with a team-high five assists along with a pair of scores. His lone game-winner came in a 1-0 triumph over Curry.
Whitson, the squad's second leading scorer deposited five goals as well as two assists for 12 points. The sophomore's second goal against Eastern Nazarene lifted the Bison to a 3-2 win and helped secure the #3 seed in the CCC Championship tournament.
The Bison head to Gordon on Tuesday afternoon for a CCC semifinal match set to begin at 1:00 p.m.
