Bryan Riley Tabbed All-TCCC

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (Feb. 23) -- Nichols College senior guard Bryan Riley (West Boylston, Mass.) has been named to the 2009-10 All-The Commonwealth Coast Conference Men's Basketball Second Team, it was announced Tuesday by Commissioner Gregg M. Kaye. The award marks the first of Riley's career.

On the season, Riley has started all 25 games and is averaging 13.2 points per game. He has dished out a team-best 91 assists, ranking him seventh in the conference. The primary ball carrier, Riley averages 31.0 minutes per game, the second-most on the team. He is firing at 46.2% from the floor, scoring 331 points this season to bring his career total to 894.

The captain posted a career-high 25 points and sank the game-winning three-pointer with 5.1 seconds left on February 9 at Wentworth this season. He scored over 20 points on five occasions, including a 22-point performance on senior night to help Nichols clinch the fifth seed in the TCCC Tournament, and a 23-point effort at Colby-Sawyer in the TCCC quarterfinals.

Nichols (14-11, 7-6) fell to the Chargers, 82-65, in Tuesday night's conference quarterfinals, and now awaits a possible ECAC DIII New England Tournament bid. The opening round of the ECAC Tournament is scheduled for Wednesday, March 3.
