SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Nichols College softball players Lauren Lombardo (Wolcott, Conn.) and Ashley Robidoux (Milford, Mass.) have been named to the 2009 All-The Commonwealth Coast Conference Softball Second Team, as announced by Commissioner Gregg M. Kaye.
Lombardo, a junior catcher, batted .297 while starting all 38 games in which she played behind the plate. A sophomore outfielder playing in her first season, Robidoux led the team with 20 RBI while batting .312. She hit four home runs and two doubles in her 24 hits and led the team with a .494 slugging percentage. Over the final six games of the season, Robidoux's bat was key as she hit .400 with 10 RBI and three home runs. In the double-elimination portion of the TCCC Championship Tournament, she went 5-for-11 with four RBI and a home run.
