SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Nichols College sophomore outfielder Ashley Robidoux (Milford, Mass.) has been named the The Commonwealth Coast Conference Softball Rookie of the Week for play ending Sunday, April 26. Robidoux cranked out two home runs in the Bison's doubleheader sweep of New England College Saturday, including a grand slam in the nightcap.

She slugged the grand slam in the third-inning of the second half of Saturday's twinbill to secure a 6-3 win and the #7 seed in the upcoming TCCC Championship.  Earlier in the day, her fourth-inning leadoff home run started a two-run inning that put Nichols ahead 2-1, as they went on to claim a 3-1 win. In three games played last week, Robidoux batted .375 (3-for-8) with two home runs and six RBI. She posted an impressive 1.125 slugging percentage for the week.

In her first season of softball, Robidoux has started 22 of 28 games, and ranks second on the team with a .302 batting average (19-for-63). She has driven in a team-high 16 runs and crossed the plate 11 times herself, while clocking three home runs and a pair of doubles.

Robidoux and the Bison travel to sixth-seeded University of New England Monday for a 4 p.m. TCCC Tournament play-in game. The winner advances to face third-seeded Curry Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. in a game played at #2 seed Western New England College.
