Dudley, Mass.- Nichols College recognized 114 of its student-athletes for their excellence in academics as well as in athletics on Thursday, April 24 as part of National Student-Athlete Day. The students honored at the special ceremony, held in Nichols' Auditorium, have maintained a cumulative grade point average of over 3.0 and are members of at least one of Nichols' 14 varsity programs. Nichols Professor Joel Cormier was the keynote speaker for the event.
National Student-Athlete Day has been an annual event since 1987. It is America's day to celebrate outstanding student-athletes who have achieved excellence in academics and athletics while having made significant contribution to the community. It is also a time to recognize those parents, teachers, coaches and school systems which make it possible for young people to find the balance between academic and athletics.
