SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Nichols College baseball freshman Kyle Bouchard (Fall River, Mass.) has been named the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Player and Rookie of the Week.

Bouchard had an incredible week for the Bison. He helped his team earn a 3-1 record, including a big win over regional powerhouse Wheaton (MA). The first basemen had four-hit games in every contest the Bison played in this week and finished with 16 hits and 13 runs batted. His impressive batting average (.680) currently makes him second in the country, while also leading the conference in RBI's (13).

"Bouch had a great week this week and was really seeing the ball well," said Nichols head coach Nick Puccio.

This is the first time in program-history that a student-athlete has received both weekly awards in the same week.

The Bison are back in action on Wednesday when they take on Ohio Wesleyan as part of the Snowbird Classic in Port Charlotte, Fla. at 9:00 a.m.
